This volume is the third in the "Patrimoine photographique" series published by the French School of Athens, which was launched in 2012. Following the volumes One Hundred Years of French Excavations in Thasos, 1911-2011 and Philippi, 1914-2014: 100 Years of French Research, the publication Delos, 1873-1913: Images of an Ancient City uncovered by the excavation is now presented.
This series, initially dedicated to commemorative anniversaries and exhibitions, now continues an independent publishing line, free from celebrations, yet with the same ambition: to utilize the treasures of the manuscript, drawings, and photographs archive of the School, which document its scientific work and primarily highlight its significant role in the archaeological sites entrusted to it generously by the Greek state.
At the same time, it provides an opportunity for reflection on precious moments in the life of the institution and its members, who dedicated years of their existence to field research and the study of the material that was brought to light each time.
