"With a View of the Theater" verbally combines spectacle with theory and the spectator with observation. This book connects various studies from the past two years of research activity that have a "view" of the theater. These studies revolve around the phenomenon of theater. They are historical and comparative, philosophical and reflective, methodological and historiographical, philological and editorial, musicological and dramaturgical, stylistic and epistemological. They address topics from antiquity, Byzantium, and modern times, covering Greece as well as much broader areas around the Mediterranean and Southeastern Europe. I hope that the book does not lack beauty and some wisdom, even though there are technical and analytical parts. Science and art are, despite their differences, siblings.
