After the fall of communism, favorable conditions were created for a sober approach to the events of the civil war, given that the polarizing atmosphere has significantly eased and the relevant archives became accessible.
This edition publishes documents from the archives of Yugoslavia and Bulgaria, countries that had direct involvement in the Greek civil war. As an appendix, some Russian documents are also included. The archival research was conducted on-site, and an effort was made to select those documents that were deemed most significant from what was found.
This collection is the first volume of a series of documents that will be made public in the future.
