With these two volumes, in which Plato's "Republic" has been difficult to accommodate due to its size and all the introductory, commentary, interpretative, and selective materials that needed to accompany the ancient text and its translation, I join the "dance" of specialized Platonic works initiated by worthy colleagues and collaborators of the series "Ancient Authors" published by ZITROS Publications.
My contribution to highlighting the value of Plato's "Republic" is modest: it is limited, apart from the analysis of the period during which Plato acted and wrote and from a succinct reference to his work, to the translation of what others, mainly during late antiquity, said about Plato in general and about the "Republic" in particular, as well as some other discernible selections.
