Our era is one of risk, both individual and collective. Job security, pensions, and the quality of air and water are no longer taken for granted for the generations to come.

Political strategies and successful recipes for development from even the recent past no longer have any chance. Proposals for escape, despite different approaches, far exceed the discussion on the balance between state and market.

Socialists have significant achievements in applied policy in most countries of the European Union. The current challenge is to once again lead in ideas and goals that inspire and mobilize societies.
