Description

Description

Let us re-capture ourselves as we are, in a dense and additionally elastic present, which we can stretch infinitely backwards, further distancing the screen that hides us from our very self.

Let us re-capture the external world as it is, not only on the surface, in the now, but in depth, with the immediate past pressing upon it and imprinting its momentum.

Let us get used, in other words, to seeing everything sub specie durationis, "under the aspect of duration": immediately, the hard relaxes, the dormant awakens, the dead is resurrected in our electrified perception.

The satisfactions that art is doomed to provide only to the privileged of nature and wealth, and only sporadically, philosophy, understood this way, would provide to all of us, at any moment, breathing life back into the ghosts that surround us, reviving us as well.
