Saint Porphyrios has helped me indescribably through this specific book... It is filled with grace and wisdom of God.

I read it again after many years, just as enjoyable and it filled me up just like back then. While it says things so simply, they become understandable and everything is explained within you.

All the books of Saint Porphyrios are very nice. Great Saint, Glory to God. Those who met him in person saw his holiness in action, and those who read his books today immediately perceive it through them.

The approach of the human spirit through religion, leaving out science and interpreting everything according to "his will". Depending on the target audience, it will have corresponding reviews.

Let Saint Porphyrios speak for himself. It is his autobiography and the second part is his speeches! There are no words to describe the book as it is Saint Porphyrios himself who speaks!

It is the only book about the saint that helped me come closer to God, alongside the saint. The other books written about him had disappointed me. This is his own words, enlightened by God, and whoever reads it always keeps it close to him.

By far my favorite book, the word that can describe it is "active", it's like an old man giving you an extremely effective therapy, knowing exactly your inner mechanisms. As for the first part, it is absorbed like cool water in the dryness and in the summer heat.

A wonderful book, with teachings and speeches by Elder Porphyrios, truly enjoyable as well as moving. The love with which Elder Porphyrios spoke is impressive. I believe that even an atheist or non-believer would be touched by his words (as a rationalist, I was moved myself). It is worth having it in your library. I have visited the Holy Monastery of Chrysopigi in Chania, a beautiful monastery with friendly nuns.

Very good book written simply and comprehensibly. It touches on specific and everyday issues that are very helpful. The references made are as broad as necessary and do not tire. It does not include huge chapters. It has enough examples. It repeats some things but this helps to better assimilate what the author wants to emphasize and ultimately retain in the reader's mind. I can easily say that it is my favorite book, I find it completely comprehensive. In Part A, reference is made to the life without becoming tiresome, but the huge usefulness of this book is in Part B, in the words of Saint Porphyrios. I highly recommend it. Honestly, it should not be missing from any Christian home.
