I believe that now, 15 years later, and after all those who spoke, with or without those nicknames for me - and I thank them - it is time for me to speak, to write and to say something about everything that happened then. To present the facts as they happened then, and not as the distorting lens of the media presented them - or rather as they reversed them. For that summer that was a turning point - however anyone sees it - for the history of this country, overturning balances and creating new realities, and that changed me forever. A summer that determined many of the things that would follow, for many people. A summer that marked, not only the specific people it directly touched, but also the whole society, because then it accepted and tolerated many things. Because then, social, political, and moral resistances were weakened, and that is why that summer still haunts us.
