This book covers topics of formation, analysis, sizing, and quality control of structural steel works in four parts.
The first part presents and explains the provisions of the final official texts (EN) of Eurocode 3, including checks for the strength and stability of members, bolted and welded connections, functionality checks, design under fire conditions, etc.
The second part provides rules for the formation and analysis of single-story steel buildings, which find the greatest application in practice. Structural elements of buildings (roofs, beams, trusses, frames, columns and supports, bracing connections, etc.), overhead cranes and their corresponding rolling beams, lateral stability, etc., are analyzed.
The third part provides rules for the formation and analysis of multi-story steel buildings, which are developing rapidly in Greece. Emphasis is placed on the analysis and sizing of composite elements (slabs, beams, and columns) and seismic provisions.
The last part deals with industrial processing, erection, and quality control. Information is provided on material forming, methods of application and pre-stressing of bolts, surface protection, transport and erection of elements, and quality control, both of welds and other processes.
