The dominance of industry over commerce occurred during the interwar period, a time when Volos transformed into one of the most important industrial cities in the Greek region, a status it has maintained to this day, despite various problems and discontinuities that have arisen over the long term.

At the same time, the characteristics of modern industry in Magnesia are discussed, with historical enterprises being documented, (...). Additionally, the entities associated with industry are presented, along with the identity and basic infrastructure of the region.

The book opens a dialogue around the evolution of industry in Magnesia and seeks to contribute to the discussion about its future. It encourages us to consider whether the conditions that allowed for the significant industrial progress of Magnesia still exist today.
