In 48 hours of continuous use, it failed to activate once... but as soon as I shook it a little, it activated. It pumps a lot of large dirt particles as well. During the last cleaning, I found whole broken walnut shells inside it. I recommend it, as it offers reliability and assurance in quickly pumping large quantities
