Description

I was born centuries ago, in a Space where there was no space, and in a Time where there was no time. In a strange way, however, I feel that I predate my own genesis. And while everything has changed since then, I feel that nothing changes. My presence counts the eternal.

After all, it is not worth discussing things - my genesis and the genesis of the Universe - that have always caused disputes. What reinforces my confidence is that my presence has always seemed primordial: in myths or in what is called science, in the works of mortals but also in religions, light has always played a special role.

Over time many have questioned its nature, while others merely remained in admiration and acceptance... Therefore, I, who am the oldest, the primordial light, it is time for me to speak a little about myself.

With these words, the primordial light begins its autobiography, whose discovery in 1965 was one of the most significant in the history of cosmology. Before giving the floor to the light itself, the well-known author of "The Comet of Berenice" and "Cosmographs" presents the marvelous ways through which science has been led to its greatest achievements: the theory of relativity, the quantum behavior of the microcosm, modern views on the genesis and evolution of the Universe.

He also does not fail to emphasize the importance of light for life itself as well as for Art, while referring to the philosophical or religious beliefs that have accompanied light since ancient times.

An easily accessible and multi-faceted book, the "Autobiography of Light" describes in simple terms the fascinating adventure of modern science, and simply asks the reader to be read "first with the mind and then or simultaneously, with the soul".
