It is known that proverbs, sayings, and proverbial phrases are living parts of a language, which carry a significant portion of a people's cultural heritage - from folk wisdom, customs, traditions, history, mythology, and religion.
Their main characteristics are their timelessness and vitality, which make them unique in their genre, as the truths they contain remain not only unchanged over time but also always relevant.
From my experience in teaching the Greek language to foreign students, I have realized the need for writing a book - user-friendly and enjoyable - with such cultural elements, which can bring the foreign learner-reader closer to the Greek reality, thus helping them understand and follow it more easily.
The goal of the book is to guide the student-reader towards the distinction, comparison, and ultimately the realization of the cultural kinship among peoples.
