This edition consists of the service of the Great Vespers celebrated on August 18th in memory of the Venerable and God-bearing Theophanes, patron saint of Naousa.
Having sung since my infancy in the first choir of the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Naousa, where the relics of the Venerable are kept, I realized the need for a publication that would include the sung lessons of the services. Thus, various notes, handwritten records, and photocopies of older lessons were utilized to select which of them would form the current edition.
Classical editions, as considered by the choral world, were used. Additionally, the lessons that had not been published earlier were emphasized based on a similar approach, according to the so-called "tradition method." In cases where published lessons were already in use, the name of the recorder/editor is mentioned in the title of the respective lesson. In the other cases, the emphasis was done by the author.
It should be noted that the edition also includes the readings of the priests and the other readings, thus avoiding the use of multiple books on the analogion by the choirs.
Warm thanks to dear Vasilis Mavragkanos for the electronic typesetting of this volume. Nikos Ordoulidis
