The Americans called me in 1988 and said: "General, we know exactly what position you hold in New Democracy, what work you do, and we want to cooperate. We want your cooperation because we have decided to finish off PASOK once and for all." I went to New York, where I met with the CIA station chief in Athens along with another high-ranking official from the American government. We agreed on everything, and I returned to Athens.

The Americans were planning the fall of existing socialism and considered New Democracy valuable to assist as a government in the developments in the Balkan former communist countries.

    Reading it gave me the impression that it was written not to provide any important truth but a) to blame Evert for all the evils, b) to blame Dora for all the evils, c) to show how wise and compassionate a father figure Mitsotakis was, to the point where it does more harm than good, d) to blame Zorba for all the evils, e) to blame I don't remember how many others for all the evils, f) to show us how patriotic the author was.
