The novel "The Pan" that contributed to the establishment of Hamsun's reputation as an important Norwegian author, first appeared in Greek by Pavlos Nirvana, a vigilant spiritual person.
The novel unfolds in a small secluded Norwegian coastal village, where the darkest and uncontrollable genetic instincts prevail. Everything happens and evolves under the corrosive logic and ethical shadow of the tragicomic god Pan. Captain Glan, who falls into the set-up erotic trap of Edouarda, undertakes to satisfy her female vanity. However, he ends up in India, pursued by the vision of the "eternal beloved," and a victim of his own will to put an end to his empty life, far from the civilization that nurtured him and failed to protect him from the sufferings of civilization and the pains of love.
