Description & Specifications

The need for achieving quality, fast, and economical constructions that can satisfy safety, functionality, and durability requirements has led to an increasing use of thin-walled structural elements made from cold-formed steel sections, applicable both as individual elements and as complete building solutions.

Their use is associated with specific design problems due to their increased sensitivity to instability phenomena. This guide provides information regarding the formation and analysis of various elements made from thin-walled sections, such as trusses, metal sheets for coverings, sandwich panels, corrugated sheets, and boxes. The connections (bolts, rivets, explosive bolts, rosettes, spot and continuous welds, etc.) are analyzed, which have significant differences from those commonly found in steel constructions.

Additionally, beyond building projects, various other types of constructions are presented, such as metal silos with walls made from corrugated sheets, industrial shelves, and beams with corrugated trunks. While examining the various types of constructions, there is an opportunity to develop design methods and control of strength, stability, and functionality for linear elements, disks, plates, and shells.

The material is supplemented with extensive application examples.
