Nevertheless, it does very well at splitting because it is relatively small, which means that for someone 1.75 m tall it allows precise strikes, and although it is also light, it lets you put in quite a lot of force for the weight it lacks. In addition, because it is sharp, it causes a lot of damage and can therefore open even hard, knotty wood relatively easily without getting stuck, compared with other heavier axes. The only drawback I found is that because it is sharp, after some use it needs sharpening. For its price, though, it is very good because you get an axe that is easy to carry and effective both at splitting and chopping.

What can one say about Fiskars? Most people here have already said everything about what kind of axes these are. What I will add is that because I kept hearing about Swedish axes, I made the mistake and paid €180 for the Gränsfors Big Splitting Axe 70cm 2.4kg, for which I am now sure it is not more effective than the X25, for which I paid less than half the money. The only certain thing is that few axes are better at splitting than Fiskars, and the only other certainty is that those are much more expensive.

The review is for the xxl x27. The axe is well-made and weighs less than 2.6 kg along with the handle. It is overpriced as for less money you can buy a heavier axe to make your job easier.

Test with large pieces of olive wood (hardwood) where you need to find the grain to split it.. Good job, it cuts a lot but it's not so good for splitting axe.. because it gets stuck sometimes and maybe I should have taken the heavier one!.. (when we split larger logs)

One of the best choices for splitting wood, it easily detaches from the wood, especially if you have first applied oil or wax. It is light to handle, although it helps you get the job done with the least possible effort.
Its construction is plastic except for the head, which helps it to be light and to have the weight shifted away from the hands, but at the same time it is also the only point that I am concerned about in terms of durability over time.

I won't say much and it's not necessary. The axe cuts down pine pieces in no time. I finished two whole pines with short breaks in 3 hours and something. With a chainsaw I would have struggled for a couple of days, I was saved.

I got the X11 to try it on small diameter pieces and I was amazed, incredible balance to the point where you feel like all the productive force you exert ends up at the point you aim for, also even if it doesn't tear with the first hit it doesn't stick to the wood but comes out immediately... Next order X25 for logs!

I bought it with reservation as I was watching videos on YouTube and I was thinking, okay, they don't have a tough knife that doesn't cut easily. In the end, the axe is something else!
