The authors of this book aim to study the image that the Greeks of the classical era formed about war, as well as the historical sources that allow us to reconstruct it today.
In the first part of the book, there is a description of how war was represented in the visual arts, in theatre, in the works of historians and philosophers, as well as in the speeches of the orators and politicians of the time.
The second part analyzes the cases of two cities for which the written testimonies and the preserved representations are insufficient.
