Description

Description

The Greek economy has shown significant growth rates in recent years, among the highest in the European Union, yet it has not significantly increased employment or succeeded in reducing unemployment and poverty.

At the same time, the structural changes in the Greek economy are not complete, and significant external influences, such as the influx of community support funds and the completion of construction projects due to the 2004 Olympic Games, do not have the same degree of positive effects as they did before.

The competitiveness of the Greek economy is declining, while it is always at risk from high fiscal deficits and public debt. Its performance regarding the path towards a knowledge society cannot be characterized as significant.

At the same time, the Greek economy seems to be losing its traditional foundations, such as tourism, increasingly relying on migrants, while its competitiveness appears to be diminishing, and it feels weak in the face of economic developments both at the European Union level and globally.

Understanding the problems but mainly the real situation is the prerequisite for creating a truly dynamic and competitive Greek economy.
