A total of 70 species with 23 subspecies are covered, with 5 additional species considered questionable or erratic. Each species is described in detail, mentioning its preferred habitats. For each species, the hybrids documented in the area are listed. Possible confusions with other species are indicated, along with the ways to distinguish them.

The indication of the flowering period and a distribution overview, along with rich illustrations, complete the presentation of each species. This is followed by a cartographic representation of species density for the 4 islands, as well as a discussion of the situation of particularly endangered species and some special habitats.
