In the spring of 1948, American journalist George Polk, 35 years old, a CBS correspondent in Athens covering the wider region, was murdered in Thessaloniki.
It was a political assassination in the midst of the Civil War that remained unsolved. Today, 70 years later, along with the main question of who (and why) killed Polk, there is also the question of why the governments of three nations (the United States, Greece, and Britain) closely collaborated (and over time) to cover up the perpetrators.
