Fairy tales, as is known, are a fundamental genre of folk literature, which has early attracted the interest of collectors and researchers.
Indeed, the collections of folk tales published in recent years and originating from various Greek regions are continuously increasing, thereby expanding the folklore literature.
Such a collection from Thrace, which belongs to the related series of the well-known publications "En Plo," is included in this volume.
It consists of a total of thirty fairy tale texts, which come from manuscripts of the archive of the academic Georgios A. Megas, housed in the Library of the Hellenic Folklore Society, and have been categorized according to the international Catalogue of fairy tales by Antti Aarne and Stith Thompson.
These texts, accompanied by some comments and a relevant glossary, serve not only their entertaining character but also undoubtedly support scientific and educational purposes.
