Description

Description

Jules Verne, with 'Journey to the Center of the Earth', justifies his title as the father of science fiction novels. It all begins when the professor of mineralogy, Otto Lidenbrock, opens an ancient manuscript and finds a coded note from the famous alchemist Arne Saknussemm, which states that he managed to reach the center of the earth. The professor convinces his nephew and assistant, Axel, to replicate Saknussemm's feat. They will be accompanied by an Icelandic guide, Hans, who is reticent and extremely calm in the face of the obstacles they will encounter. The three of them will descend through volcanic craters, encounter underground rivers and seas, and prehistoric monsters unseen by human eyes. They will travel thousands of kilometers through basalt galleries, endure a terrible storm, and experience a volcanic eruption trapped in the crater. But will they eventually see the light of the sun again? And how?

  • Axel and his uncle, a famous professor of mineralogy, discover a message written in a secret language inside an old book. They manage to decipher it and set off on the most difficult and magical journey... A journey to the center of the earth!
The classic story by Jules Verne, this time through the unique perspective of a fantastic duo... Antonis Papatheodoulou and Iris Samartzi. The names themselves are a guarantee! At least for me, I buy their books with my eyes closed!
In the upper grades of elementary school, I discovered the entire Jules Verne series in my mother's library... I started with "Journey to the Center of the Earth" because I wanted to experience an exciting adventure! I wasn't wrong at all... I wonder, can someone really travel to the center of the earth?
I couldn't wait to get Verne's books for my own kids, who are just five years old. But I was looking for a series with less text and beautiful illustrations... That way, they would be easier to read and more pleasant to the eye.
I discovered the amazing series "Little Journeys with the Imagination of Jules Verne"... Wonderful!
All of Verne's books, with a modern and fresh look, colorful and unique illustrations... They definitely don't leave children's eyes indifferent.
They are all the same size, with a hard cover, so you can place them nicely and neatly on the children's bookshelf. These particular books are suitable for collecting and make a special gift for elementary school children!
At first, I got two books... "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Around the World in 80 Days," simply because those were my favorites as a student. But I will definitely buy the rest for my kids!
"Journey to the Center of the Earth" has a stunning cover, in a wonderful red-brick color and the Earth in the center, which immediately catches the reader's eye.
The title in all the books is beautifully and harmoniously woven into the illustrations... It is part of the illustration and not a separate element, as is usually the case in books.
The interior is full of wonderful illustrations from different perspectives, bright and vivid for the Earth's surface, dark and impressive for the center.
A book that keeps children's interest undiminished and excites their imagination... Surely after reading, they will make maps with secret messages and prepare their backpacks for their own adventurous journey of imagination!
