Seki Magoroku Red Wood Series

The Seki Magoroku Redwood is a series of chef knives with robust stainless steel quality and classic Japanese elements. The series includes both single and double-edged knives that share the common denominators of stability and balanced functionality as well as sharpness.
The design combines minimal basic form with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The name comes from the red pakkawood from which the handle is made. The handle is particularly resistant to moisture.

Seki Magoroku Redwood Blade

The blade of the Seki Magoroku Redwood series is made from IK6 carbon stainless steel with a hardness of 58 (±1) HRC. Both double-edged and single-edged knives feature long-lasting edge retention and exceptional sharpness. The single-sided sharpening, traditionally used for Japanese knives, minimizes friction between the blade and the material being cut, offering the precision required for cutting.

Seki Magoroku Redwood Handle

The handle with the traditional chestnut shape is made from pakkawood. The high-quality resin added to the wood makes the material particularly durable, resistant to moisture, and comfortable in the hand. The handle and blade are inserted into each other and are tightly connected by a black ring.

I bought it as a gift for a colleague, forget what you knew about Kai and knives, it is a small knife that weighs around 25 grams and the blade thickness is 0.8 millimeters, it is basically a trace of Kai. I do not recommend it for professionals, but it is good for decorative purposes at home.

Soft steel, very thin blade. Cuts well at first, but then it needs sharpening. Get a better victorinox for 5 euros.

Tremendous knife, handle/sharp, I use it for fruits/vegetables as an everyday but it's tremendous, definitely a bit pricey but worth it clearly. Stable - sharp clearly excellent knife, I would buy it again but for someone on a lower budget they might consider the Wusthof Silverpoint since it would have 2 knives instead of one at this price. Definitely the AND superior by far and it's my favorite. Maybe I'll also buy the larger 20cm in the future.

I have it for about two months. It is a small fruit knife. Convenient thanks to the wooden case. Very lightweight! Very sharp and pointed. It requires attention when washing, only by hand, as the wood is smooth but with deep grooves. I liked it, too bad I didn't buy two, it was cheap.

Easy to use, with a very nice handle, the only downside could be a little better sharpened
