Description & Specifications

How distant are the lives and practices of the unemployed, as well as their actual production principles, from the image that is shaped for them, both by those who determine national policy for addressing unemployment or who undertake the implementation of these National Action Plans for Employment, and by those who analyze, primarily criticizing the "rationality" of these policies?

The answer that this work attempts to provide is critical, as in the last fifteen years, employment policies are increasingly changing both their form and purposes, defining the principles that determine the legitimacy of the lack of work and the condition of existence without work.

Based on empirical material derived from both statistical and qualitative approaches, this sociological analysis of the factors and forms of experience, consciousness, and management of unemployment seeks to create a rupture with the dogmatic tendency of theoretical constructs and their political applications and to reveal the parodic aspect that the celebratory acts of worship of various action plans for addressing unemployment take on when faced with the very reality of the unemployed.
