Description

Smaller in size, the Garmin Fenix 5S Plus multisport smartwatch with GPS features wrist-based heart rate technology and color TopoActive Europe maps with the Trendline function that helps you identify and follow popular routes. Suitable for adventure with a dynamic design, it has a large 1.2" display, readable in sunlight, with a stainless steel bezel, buttons, and back.

The road to success

Whether you are in the city or on a trail, all watches in the Fenix 5S Plus series feature built-in maps and navigation functions that help you maintain your orientation and course. The TopoActive Europe color maps come preloaded with data, optimized for at-a-glance navigation and location recording. For runners and cyclists, the device also includes the Trendline popular routes feature, which uses billions of kilometers of Garmin Connect data to help you find and follow the best trails and routes.

Navigation with multiple satellite networks

Each watch in the Fenix 5S Plus series receives signals from multiple satellite networks (GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo) for unrivaled accuracy even in the most demanding environments. In addition to map navigation, each watch features ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer, and compass) for outdoor navigation. The built-in altimeter provides elevation data for accurate tracking of ascent and descent in activities such as hiking, while the three-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing steady, whether you are in motion or not.

Advanced Performance Metrics

The Fenix features advanced training functions to monitor your technique and performance. View detailed physiology metrics, running dynamics, and other functions to track your exercise stats, measure your progress, and improve your technique. You can also see the overall training load, which measures the volume of exercise for the last 7 days and compares it with the ideal range based on your physical condition and recent training history. Special pre-installed activity profiles are available for swimming, running, cycling, hiking, skiing, rowing, paddle sports, and more.

Heart Rate from the Wrist

The Elevate wrist heart rate technology allows you to monitor your heart rate without the use of a chest strap. In addition to step counting and sleep tracking, the watch uses heart rate data to provide calorie information and quantify the intensity of fitness activities. It also measures heart rate variability to calculate stress levels, helping you assess the level of activity your body is ready for.

Pay with a flick of your wrist

Following the rhythm of your active lifestyle, the Fenix 5S Plus devices support the Garmin Pay contactless payment feature*. Use your watch for payments where you would use your credit card, avoiding queues at the checkout and leaving cards and cash at home.

* The Garmin Pay feature is compatible for those who have an Alpha Bank Visa card.

Music everywhere with you

Now you can have up to 500 songs stored directly on your watch, so you can listen to them anywhere without using a phone. It's easy to transfer music from your computer and then arrange your favorite playlist to listen to easily through compatible Bluetooth headphones (sold separately). You can even sync your playlists from selected music streaming services to your watch to listen to them without ads. Now you no longer need to have your phone with you when you exercise, because the music that sets your pace is on your wrist.

  • Good watch for running and activities, but I consider the support from the company to be unacceptable. The contacts on the side of the watch have broken, and the cable can't even charge the watch, let alone connect and update the maps. This behavior is very American. I regret giving the same watch as a gift to my son.

Today, 15/7/2024, the official representative informed me that they cannot repair the Felix 5 plus because Garmin has stopped sending spare parts for any damage for this model. I bought the watch in 2020. So, should I throw it away?

I am one of the first to have acquired it. In general, it is a very good watch, but the dealership plays unacceptable games. And let me be more specific.... Shortly before the warranty expired, I put the watch on for charging and it never worked again... I took it to the dealership and after one day it was ready and working like new. I asked for a warranty for this specific repair and they told me that it just needed reprogramming and they wouldn't give me a warranty. As soon as the factory warranty expired, the watch presented the exact same problem and when I took it to the dealership, they told me that supposedly it doesn't meet the requirements and that I have to pay 273 euros if I want it replaced.... They treat us like fools and I am truly sorry because they tarnish a company with a big name and a great history, especially in GPS. Thank you for your time.

Owner of the 5x plus for a year and a half and after a hike in the mountains, the barometer, altimeter, and temperature no longer work. The watch, of course, went for replacement, luckily it's under warranty, but due to Covid, it will take at least 3 months to arrive from England. Unfortunately, I know many people who have sent their Garmin series 5 for replacement and unfortunately, they have encountered many problems for so much money. I really don't know if I would buy it again even though it's an amazing watch.

    Positives:
I have had it for two years, it's a top watch! The battery easily lasts a week without excessive use, even when constantly connected to my phone to see my training program in detail. Convenient on the wrist, the 51mm size may feel a bit heavy to some at first, but you get used to it. It is generally very beautiful and functions as a formal watch. It has only frozen on me twice, but a simple restart fixes it.

    Negatives:
I paid €850 when I first bought it, I would have liked a better AMOLED screen for nighttime instead of LCD. The only positive is that in bright sunlight, it doesn't glare and displays very well. Also, I was told that it doesn't scratch, but the truth is that it does scratch over time, especially on the bezel after two years of use. Another negative is that the charger easily disconnects. In terms of GPS measurements, it is superb!

I gave 800 euros because I got tired of spending money on half-measures like the Huawei watch gt and another watch for 25 euros. Unfortunately, though, you mainly pay for the brand. In a week without much use, the case has 2 scratches. They put sapphire glass so it doesn't scratch, but the case is very sensitive. Then the measurements I have made in the sea are not accurate at all, but I will come back with more details. Finally, regarding the sleep information it keeps, it is moderate. It only keeps continuous sleep periods and does not keep track of the so-called naps. For example, yesterday I slept from 23:30 to 00:30 and then slept again at 03:00 until 9 in the morning, and it only kept the second period. Unacceptable for 800 euros. It's too much money to be generally mediocre. I hope it helps me in training in the pool. I will come back.

  • I am one of the first to have acquired it.
