Description

Smaller in size, the Garmin Fenix 5S Plus multisport smartwatch with GPS features wrist-based heart rate technology and color TopoActive Europe maps with the Trendline function that helps you identify and follow popular routes. Suitable for adventure with a dynamic design, it has a large 1.2" display, readable in sunlight, with a stainless steel bezel, buttons, and back.

The road to success

Whether you are in the city or on a trail, all watches in the Fenix 5S Plus series feature built-in maps and navigation functions that help you maintain your orientation and course. The TopoActive Europe color maps come preloaded with data, optimized for at-a-glance navigation and location recording. For runners and cyclists, the device also includes the Trendline popular routes feature, which uses billions of kilometers of Garmin Connect data to help you find and follow the best trails and routes.

Navigation with multiple satellite networks

Each watch in the Fenix 5S Plus series receives signals from multiple satellite networks (GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo) for unrivaled accuracy even in the most demanding environments. In addition to map navigation, each watch features ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer, and compass) for outdoor navigation. The built-in altimeter provides elevation data for accurate tracking of ascent and descent in activities such as hiking, while the three-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing steady, whether you are in motion or not.

Advanced Performance Metrics

The Fenix features advanced training functions to monitor your technique and performance. View detailed physiology metrics, running dynamics, and other functions to track your exercise stats, measure your progress, and improve your technique. You can also see the overall training load, which measures the volume of exercise for the last 7 days and compares it with the ideal range based on your physical condition and recent training history. Special pre-installed activity profiles are available for swimming, running, cycling, hiking, skiing, rowing, paddle sports, and more.

Heart Rate from the Wrist

The Elevate wrist heart rate technology allows you to monitor your heart rate without the use of a chest strap. In addition to step counting and sleep tracking, the watch uses heart rate data to provide calorie information and quantify the intensity of fitness activities. It also measures heart rate variability to calculate stress levels, helping you assess the level of activity your body is ready for.

Pay with a flick of your wrist

Following the rhythm of your active lifestyle, the Fenix 5S Plus devices support the Garmin Pay contactless payment feature*. Use your watch for payments where you would use your credit card, avoiding queues at the checkout and leaving cards and cash at home.

* The Garmin Pay feature is compatible for those who have an Alpha Bank Visa card.

Music everywhere with you

Now you can have up to 500 songs stored directly on your watch, so you can listen to them anywhere without using a phone. It's easy to transfer music from your computer and then arrange your favorite playlist to listen to easily through compatible Bluetooth headphones (sold separately). You can even sync your playlists from selected music streaming services to your watch to listen to them without ads. Now you no longer need to have your phone with you when you exercise, because the music that sets your pace is on your wrist.

    UPD 11/2024:
Still the same. Get a used Garmin. It doesn't break.

    UPD 02/2023:
I don't understand why you wouldn't get a used Garmin. Aside from minor wear (like a small scratch on the top of the screen), it hasn't suffered anything, nothing has changed, it's just as functional as the first day. You connect your bank card and it makes payments normally, from the 5Plus series and onwards.
Battery life is the same, about 10-12 days if you don't do any activities for a day.
It will be 8 days if you’re training for a marathon 4 days a week with 10-12 hours of training.
It's now certain that if I ever need to change my Garmin, I don't need to get the latest model.

    __________________________________________
So far, I've had 2 Amazfit watches (Pace, Stratos), and due to battery life, build quality, and mainly measurement accuracy, I was looking to upgrade to use it for triathlon, but I also wanted it to be nice for the office, etc., so I wouldn't have to change watches twice a day. With the help of the company's poor customer service, I decided to spend double the money in hopes that a device would last me more than 2 years.

Build quality is okay, it's a bit heavy but you don't notice it after 2-3 days. Of course, I noticed two scratches on the bezel which must have happened by bumping it awkwardly against some furniture at home. Okay, it could have been avoided considering you paid to get the best and most expensive brands, and it got scratched in home use.

Other than that, for running, cycling, swimming which I've tried, it has a lot of features, accuracy in measurements, and variety in how you want to execute a workout. It allows you to set your goals whether by time/distance/fitness level, and to see your progress week by week. Simply put, it has a lot to offer, and that's where it justifies its price.

I was thinking of finding it used for around 350, but in the end, I found it completely randomly for around 390 new, so I bought it. Now 400+ is already too much; 99.5% of the population doesn't need to spend extra money, those extra features are just a scam.

I am not very satisfied with its screen. The measurements are accurate but they constantly require calibration. The battery is excellent, it has many features and programs. I still need to try it for diving with the iq dive. I expected a bit more for its price in terms of screen and accuracy, but overall it is good.

I have gone through 220,620,920 fenix 3, 935 2 suunto (spartan sport and baro) and now this.
As a classic garmin, it has countless capabilities and features that the majority of watch buyers will not use!
As a smartwatch, it has some basic functions (calls, messages) that you receive but that's about it.
Its screen is clear but not as captivating with its colors as an apple watch or a huawei gt, but for sports purposes, it's great. There is the garmin connect iq that allows you to change watch faces and customize them. The garmin connect (Garmin's application) gives you countless possibilities such as programming your workouts, creating an interval workout, seeing the exercises you have done, and generally anything you can imagine.
Personally, I use it mainly for running and occasionally for cycling and the gym. In running, the GPS measurements are excellent (rarely is there any error), the heart rate monitor as average values is 1 to 2 beats higher than the chest strap data, with the maximum values almost always being the same. The barometer works correctly and accurately, as does the music part. The plus is that it has built-in memory for storing songs, the connection with Bluetooth headphones is immediate and easy, although from what I understand, to play music through Spotify, the watch must first be connected to the charger and wifi for synchronization. Anyway, the watch's speaker offers a stronger sound than my phone (xiaomi mi9).
Finally, the battery lasts about a week with 3 workouts and all other features on, which is generally great.
I think as a device compared to the competition, it is quite ahead, not so much in terms of measurement accuracy but as a complete package.
