Checklist for Performing a Reliable Measurement
- Avoid physical activity, eating, or smoking immediately before the measurement.
- Sit in a chair with a backrest and relax for 5 minutes. Place your feet firmly on the floor and do not cross them.
- The measurement should always be taken on the same arm (usually the left). Doctors are advised to measure both arms during a patient's first visit to determine which arm to measure in the future. They should measure the arm with the higher pressure.
- Remove tight clothing from the arm. To avoid constriction, the shirt sleeve should not be rolled up - it does not obstruct the cuff if it is down.
- Always ensure that you are using the correct cuff size (indicated on the cuff).
Instructions for Use
- Place the cuff snugly, but not too tightly.
- Ensure that the cuff is placed 2 centimeters above your elbow.
- The artery mark on the cuff (about 3 centimeters) should be positioned over the artery that runs along the inside of the arm.
- Support your forearm so that your hand is relaxed.
- Ensure that the cuff is at the same height as your heart.
- Slide the AK lock switch to the "unlock" position. Press the START/STOP AM button to start the measurement.
- The cuff will inflate automatically. Relax, do not move, and do not tense the muscles of your arm until the measurement value appears. Breathe normally and do not talk.
- When the correct pressure is reached, the inflation stops and the pressure gradually decreases. If the correct pressure is not reached, the device will automatically pump more air into the cuff.
- During the measurement, the pulse indicator BL flashes on the screen.
- The result is displayed, which includes systolic blood pressure AQ, diastolic AR, and pulse rate AS. Also see the explanations of the other indicators in this leaflet.
- When the measurement is complete, remove the cuff.
- Turn off the device. (The screen turns off automatically after about 1 minute) How not to store a measurement Once the measurement appears, press and hold the START/STOP AM button until the "M" AO symbol starts flashing. Confirm the deletion of the measurement by pressing the M AO button.
- You can stop the measurement at any time by pressing the START/STOP button (e.g., if you feel uncomfortable or if you feel an unpleasant pressure sensation).
- If there is a history of high systolic pressure, it may be beneficial to individually adjust the pressure. Press the START/STOP button when the indicator reaches approximately 30 mmHg (displayed on the screen). Keep the button pressed until the pressure reaches about 40 mmHg above the expected systolic value – then release the button.
