The bonds that clinical psychology establishes throughout history with the models of medicine, experimental psychology, post- psychoanalysis, and genetic psychology have developed a spirit of openness and freedom regarding the choices it proposes in the direction of mental exploration, therapeutic methods, and research.
Given the explosion of models and practices we observe today, mainly in the field of psychotherapy, this work attempts a redefinition of clinical psychology as a structured science of the humanities, as well as a clarification of the relevant connections between theory, practice, and research, which can guarantee its scientific validity.
