Very high quality and useful pan. I use it for making scrambled eggs and I think because it’s already seasoned during production, it never sticks. I have to note that I maintain it carefully by washing it with warm water and dish soap; then drying with a soft towel, and then oiling it completely including the handle with one small tissue and one teaspoon of sunflower oil after every single use.

I compare the lodge with a corresponding one from petromax. Since both are cast iron, they have similar weight (obviously both quite heavy, but this is known to those who use cast iron cookware). I have seasoned both twice over the two years. Unfortunately, the lodge has lost its coating while the petromax has developed the classic black coating from frequent use and has become non-stick. I wash them gently with water and green soap if needed, and to remove the burnt grease, I boil a little water for a minute and it comes off immediately without scrubbing. I dry both immediately, apply a little sunflower oil, and store them. Unfortunately, the lodge has not developed a non-stick coating and its surface seems to be whitening. I will not buy it again.
