With this volume, the second edition of the article-by-article interpretation of the Civil Code is inaugurated. The proposal of the second part of Family Law (Volume VIII) was deemed necessary due to the significant developments that have occurred in this branch of civil law in recent years. This publishing effort will continue with the remaining volumes of the series until the completion of the project (Volumes I to X). The second edition is fully revised and updated with the changes brought about by a series of legislations in the field of Family Law, most notably Laws 2447/1996 and 3089/2002. The contributors to the project have mostly reworked their contributions, taking into account the latest case law and recent literature regarding the interpretation of each provision. At the end of this volume, as well as the volumes to follow, an alphabetical index of terms is provided. The structure of the first edition was otherwise maintained (special bibliography section in each unit, footnotes, endnotes, etc.).
