The purpose of these essays is to transmit the spirit of Epicurus to the 21st century. The revelations of Epicurus stood as an ideological bulwark against the numerous and alarming notions propagated together by all sorts of moralists, theologians, 'prophets', astrologers, and other charlatans, who thrived on exploiting ignorance and fear.

Against all, the Epicureans stormed like a fiery tempest in the Mediterranean world, sharing wisdom and comfort, organized into philosophical schools - a tradition that began with Epicurus and continued uninterrupted for six centuries.

Only with the advent of the Middle Ages did the movement of Epicureanism eventually fall to the margins and cease to exist. But the legacy of Epicurus was not destined to be erased forever...
