Description

The Chinese lunar calendar is the longest recorded history, dating back to 2637 BC, when Emperor Huang Ti introduced the first cycle of this Zodiac Cycle, in the 61st year of his reign.

A full cycle covers 60 years and consists of five simple cycles, each lasting 12 years. The 77th cycle began on February 5, 1924, and will end on February 1, 1984. Twelve animals are associated with the 12 years of the simple cycles, when, according to legend, Lord Buddha called all animals to his side before departing from Earth. Only twelve heard his call and went to bid farewell to him.
