The Neniton Parthenagogeio "Adamantios Korais" comes to light exclusively from the elements of the unpublished manuscripts of K. Kanelakis. He pioneered in 1879 to establish the Philanthropic Society "O Kalos Odigos" and to found the school, because he believed that "the absolute need to educate the female sex". From 1887 it was funded and the responsibility of its operation was the Society for the Dissemination of Greek Letters in Athens and Kanelakis as a supervisor directed it for almost thirty years with special care. Up to 100 female students per year attended its four classes, which provided them with a high level of knowledge with an emphasis on their moral cultivation. Through a multitude of letters, mainly from the Society (the first on 6.2.1889, the last on 24.9.1915) and from copies of reports, memoranda, and references, which he himself sent for current and major issues that arose, educational and functional issues of the schools of the Turkish-ruled Hellenism become known, such as those related to lessons, handicrafts, exams, names of students and teachers, agreements, requests, salaries, accountability, donations, material lists for the construction of the building, payments to workers, and more. Above all, however, an era comes to life with its perceptions and problems in a community of Chios in the last years of Ottoman rule and the first years after liberation.
