The leaves of Egypt are used for severe cases of constipation, as a laxative in iatrogenic constipation, during colonoscopy, in case of hemorrhoids from constipation, to combat infections from E. Coli and Candida albicans, and in the treatment of cold sores.
How to use:
- The leaves and pods are prepared as an infusion.
- Soak the pods or leaves in warm water for 6-12 hours.
- For Alexandrian senna, use 3-6 pods or leaves.
- For Tinnevelly senna, use 4-12 pods or leaves.
- The action of the herb is slow and appears 10 to 12 hours after ingestion.
- In tincture form, the daily dose is 2-7 ml of tincture three times a day.
