The focus of the book is on the theoretical reflections that develop around the concept of citizenship and the ways it is addressed within the educational framework.

The dialogue that is currently evolving regarding the connection of political education with ethics, values, democracy, human rights, law, and justice is presented, while pedagogical models, educational practices, and teaching frameworks are highlighted.

Within the context of this study, an attempt is made to record the historical development of social and political education in the Greek educational system.

Specifically, the objectives and contents of the courses in Social and Political Education and Introduction to Law and Political Institutions are analyzed in comparison with similar courses in the curricula of other countries in Europe and the USA.

The main aim is to provide answers to questions regarding the purposes, means, and potential outcomes of social, political, and ethical education on a national, transnational, supranational, and multicultural level.
