Although it may seem so, "The Semolina" is not a children's play. It is a tale that is read with an open heart. For the young or for the old? False dilemma! What child would have heard a tale if it were not told to them by an adult? What adult does not enjoy reading a fairy tale?
"The Semolina" is a wager: With myself. I had never engaged with fairy tales nor with how alive our oral tradition can be on the stage of theater today. Moreover, I had never attempted to write in verse and rhyme. I believed that all of this belonged to the past. It seems that this is not the case. Some things are always there or within us. We just need to bend down and see them. We just need to dig and find them.
