  • This review is about the edition: Game of The Year

It is one of those games that you will either love or not enjoy at all. Don't go in thinking you're playing Dark Souls, Elden Ring, or Bloodborne—it won't work. For me, the game is quite average; it has several issues that prevent me from loving it. Some have to do with bosses, another is the terror mechanic which doesn't make sense to exist. Personally, I suggest you try it and see if you like it. I'm already at the final boss, but I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, nor is it one of the worst games. If it had some customization and didn't force you to play in only one specific way, maybe I would have liked it more.

This is a game aimed at the hardcore mass of gamers who have many, many hours to dedicate to it. Incredibly difficult, it requires almost perfect reflexes from the player, as even a tenth of a second counts. Nonsense like it makes you a better player is just words to keep us happy. You die so many times that in the end, you give up whether you want to or not. Very good graphics, sound, and music are the positives of the game.

The rest of the game haters simply are not fans of difficult games.

Yes, it is one of the most difficult games of the company, mainly due to the change in mechanics.

The ability of Parry and Jump is a plus in terms of gameplay.

For many, the best game from From. For me, not because of the difficulty that got out of hand, the absence of multiplayer, and the lack of class options. Nevertheless, I bought it to play it again after the PC because, well, we love From no matter what they release, and I want to play it again on the PS5. I believe I will enjoy it much more this time, having mastered the very different mechanics of the game that have nothing to do with any soulslike so far

I haven't played anything worse in my life (game finished). It's an acceptable game with unbelievably bad gameplay and unbelievably bad hitboxes! The worst thing ever! I'm a big fan of soulsborne games, and this is a disgrace as a game! The worst thing ever! If I could give it zero stars, I would!

It is a game that makes you a better player in a difficult game (10/10 in difficulty) but equally nice, it's not for everyone, you need to have experience with games.
You feel like you are holding the controller and not just pressing R1, it requires reflexes and a clear mind (they really did a good job).
The scenario is very nice, the sound is fine with headphones, I just turned the game's music to 0 to focus more on the moment with the enemy, the landscapes, and the atmosphere.
As a game of its kind, it is excellent

The game is very good in all aspects. It is quite challenging and addictive in gameplay. The enemy executions are addictive as well as the epic battles with the bosses. I highly recommend it to fans of souls and tenchu. If someone is interested in the contents of the packaging, I tried to make an unboxing video.

Truly the best game I have ever played, it is worth every penny and more, it is now my favorite game of all time. I have reached a point where I can't resist starting a new game from the beginning with a new difficulty level as soon as I finish the story, something I have never experienced with any other game.

First of all, let me say that I finished the game just to write the review. So, amazing graphics, amazing characters, but guys, the gameplay killed me. I knew it was a difficult game, but it frustrated me. Okay, the enemies were cool, I admit the storyline was nice, but come on, every time I killed a boss, instead of feeling satisfied, I felt exhausted. Alright, if you want a very challenging game, above average difficulty, go for it. But if you're like me, who plays all games with moderate difficulty and wants more story and character development rather than battles, sorry, but go for The Last of Us instead.

Masterpiece from software really. I started Sekiro after finishing DS3 and Bloodborne along with their DLCs, and I have to say it has the best but also the most difficult gameplay out of the two. It takes time to learn the mechanics and then it just clicks. It is definitely the most difficult game I have played, but also the most fun. It is relatively smaller compared to DS3 and BB. It took me 25 hours to finish it and defeat all the bosses and mini bosses (including the 5 headless), while DS3 took me 34 hours and a total of 40 with the 2 DLCs. It's not a game for everyone because it's certain that you will die... a lot, especially against the final boss. And I believe it's worth its money, but for me, it's not worth 70€ from the store. At most, 50€. A must-play for from software fans.

Although I have no relation to the dark souls games, which resemble this one in some way, my experience with this game was unexpectedly excellent. It is definitely a difficult game and requires skill, but it teaches you to become better throughout. And the most important thing is that despite the difficulty and anxiety it creates, when you finally defeat a boss, the satisfaction grows. However, it is not for everyone because the difficulty is not adjustable and some may get bored of dying. But those who can dedicate some of their time, I believe they will really enjoy it.

The game is not for everyone because it is very difficult, if you are one of those who really have no patience, stay away.
It does not rely on character build up but on player reflexes, it requires preparation before each boss and mini boss.

Being a big fan of the souls from 1, I couldn't not try it. I went in with a lot of experience from the previous ones and I thought it couldn't be more difficult than ds1. However, I got stuck and seeing how different it is in terms of almost none of the dark souls gameplay mechanics working, I thought here we are. Forget dodgeroll, shields, armor. Only parry and deflect until the sun sets. While at first the combat seemed empty compared to dark souls, later on I realized that its beauty lies in its simplicity and how refined it is. In comparison to souls, here you will develop your reflexes for ten times longer since it is harder, more fast paced, and less forgiving than a souls game. The addition of stealth is excellent and if you exploit it, you can slice through every gank. I would definitely like more weapon variety but the skills are a good alternative. In the end, it is a game worthy of the GOTY with solid gameplay and story. Hopefully, there will be a sequel.

A diamond game that requires complete dedication and is not given to anyone. It will punish you many times, but once you learn the mechanics and how to move, you will be able to appreciate the emotions it can offer you. Of course, I would not recommend it to someone who wants to play something relaxed and does not have the courage to deeply learn the game, but I highly recommend it to someone who wants a challenge. Fairly the game of the year for 2019

Masterpiece indeed. It is a game that requires effort and unfortunately many will give up on it. However, if you engage and learn the mechanics of the game (which are the Alpha and the Omega), then you simply have nothing to fear. It may sound cliché, but you must accept that when you lose, it is not the game's fault but clearly your own mishandling. Once you accept this, then you can enjoy it even when it frustrates you. Deservedly Game of the year.

It is from From Software, so feel free to buy it and enjoy.
Personally, I rank it slightly below the Souls & Bloodborne games because its combat system rewards and relies more on the speed of reflexes (deflect, mikiri, etc.) rather than tactics and character build.

Amazing... Masterpiece.... Whatever I say is not enough. I bought it for 70€ and I don't regret it for a moment. The best game I have ever played!

EPIC. Pure entertainment from perhaps From's most challenging game. Tremendous level design and art direction, and something completely different from what we were used to. The game requires patience and dedication to learn its mechanics, but once you do, it offers incredible moments

Bloodborne and Dark Souls are epic games, with terrible graphics and gameplay, unresponsive controls, and a tragic camera switch! Just because you made a difficult game doesn't mean you succeeded at all!

One of the best quality games I have ever played. Even more difficult than Dark Souls/Bloodborne, but once you delve deep into the mechanics, it is truly a masterpiece.

From the top game of the century. I don't need to say much, everything is perfect in my opinion. And at the price of 50 that I bought it, it is worth more than that.

It is from From Software, so feel free to buy it and enjoy.
Personally, I rank it slightly below the Souls & Bloodborne games because its combat system rewards and relies more on the speed of reflexes (deflect, mikiri, etc.) rather than tactics and character build.

  • It is one of those games that you will either love or not enjoy at all.

  • This is a game aimed at the hardcore mass of gamers who have many, many hours to dedicate to it.
