The 4 ½ Friends consist of three boys, one girl, and a dog. Kale, the founder and leader of the detective agency "Kale and Co.", the twin siblings Steffi and Carsten, Friedel, and their dog, Penta, get involved in various adventures as they try to solve mysteries and strange cases.

Steffi has a new computer and doesn’t let anyone touch it. But when she is convinced to let her friends play a new video game on her computer, trouble isn’t far behind!

Since none of them have money for the repair, the 4 ½ Friends are forced to take jobs as little helpers for Santa Claus in a department store. Kale seizes the opportunity to offer his services to the store's detective.

When Kale suspects that the bellies of the Santas in the department store are not just stuffed with cotton, a new adventure will begin for the 4 ½ Friends.
