I bought it for audio extraction only on my LG TV through HDMI ARC... and nothing happened. I don't know if it's the device's fault or if what I tried is even possible... hence the terrible rating

It does a great job. I have connected it to my MacBook and an old VGA monitor and it works perfectly without any problems for the past month that I have had it. Of course, using the power through USB. One star less because it seems that it is not very smart for the HDMI port of the laptop to bear the weight of the VGA adapter (see photo). So it would probably be better to have an accessory that includes a cable between the male HDMI and the female VGA so that the cable can be attached to the table/desk instead of directly on the laptop.

Ένα αστέρι λιγότερο γιατί φαίνεται ότι δεν είναι πολύ έξυπνο να σηκώνει η θύρα hdmi του laptop όλο το βάρος του VGA αντάπτορα (βλ. φώτο). Οπότε μάλλον θα ήταν καλύτερο ένα εξάρτημα που περιλαμβάνει και καλώδιο ανάμεσα στο αρσενικό hdmi και το θηλυκό VGA ώστε να κουμπώνει το καλώδιο πάνω στο τραπέζι/γραφείο και όχι απευθείας πάνω στο laptop.
Really perfect image, I needed it because I wanted to connect my PS4 to a monitor that had VGA. Be careful, don't worry if it doesn't show you an image, you will need to connect a cable that is included in the package for additional power supply to the adapter. You will need to connect one end of this cable to the adapter and the other end, which is the USB, to one of the front ports of the PS4. I hope I helped
