This particular book contains honestly very useful information for the first year of the child, but the font it is written in personally tires me a lot... Very tiring to read as there is a lot of information on some pages and it gives you the feeling that there is chaos. Also, it contains information regarding, for example, weaning after the child's first year, where at this point, having read many studies about the benefits of breastfeeding, I find it very lacking in knowledge. Also, regarding a chapter that suggests letting the child cry at night, I did not like the information I read, and upon researching again, it is wrong to let a baby cry, as this way we teach them to feel insecure and not to trust... I don't know if I would buy it again!

An extremely useful book for all the anxieties of a new mom. You can't read it beforehand because it has more practical value. It helps like a dictionary; you refer to it depending on the month of the baby or the problem you have to face, e.g., colic, feeding, etc.

In the year 2023, this book is not the best guide for new parents. Many things have changed, and this book shows us that it is outdated in terms of information.

  • Many of the things that WHO and UNICEF say, the author does not know, and now research shows that some of the things mentioned in the book have negative consequences on the child's life. The book has, in other words, outdated views. For example, to stop breastfeeding after the first year, not to co-sleep, let the baby cry at night and if you can't handle it, put on earplugs or turn up the radio loud! The introduction of solid foods starts from the 4th month with rice flour, but many pediatricians in Greece do not agree with this. If you don't get stuck on these pages, the rest is excellent and I would recommend it.

Very detailed information, given in an understandable and clear way.
It covers the overwhelming majority of questions that a new parent may have.
It is practically addressed exclusively to the mother - which is not necessarily a bad thing. I just mention it.
