I have been buying DELL monitors from the U series for professional use for many years. I use them professionally for many hours a day and keep them for MANY years. I bought this specific model, U3219Q, about half a year ago (with reservations due to reviews about panel quality variation).

The first U3219Q broke in less than a month (no display at all). I contacted the store (very polite) who provided me with a specific Dell service phone number and the Dell company IMMEDIATELY replaced it with a new U3219Q.

The communication with Dell was excellent, as well as their immediate response/service for the replacement of the first monitor!

The monitor is excellent in terms of quality, image, and colors (for its class), but besides that, it provides additional features for professional use such as the display manager and KVM. The reliability and support from the manufacturer are very important to me, so I don't want to be left hanging.

I have no idea if it is good for gaming, I don't think it applies to these monitors (corresponding to quadro GPUs).

Highly recommended for professional use (but buy from a reputable store)

For MacBook Pro owners, I consider it a one-way street because, apart from other features, it offers a type-c connection, which means that with just one cable on the MacBook, you have both charging and display.

This particular model has only one disadvantage, which has been resolved in the next generation. It does not support USB 3 speeds when the display is provided through type c. The speed drops to USB 2.

It has 1x DP 1.4, 1 HDMI 2.0, 4x USB 3.0, and 1x USB C. It is HDR10 (which you will hardly ever use for office work that you will choose it for), and it also features PIP & PBP. The clarity of the panel in text is incredible, the colors are accurate as the pre-calibration from the factory is classic (...like all DELL U series monitors) and its stand offers several adjustments to bring it to the perfect position that suits you.

Impressions after the first few days of using the screen.
- There is no light bleed in black images. No dead pixels.
- It is not OLED in blacks, but I don't care at all. It is very satisfactory, they do not look like shades of gray.
- It has excellent clarity and great transparency in texts.
- Very nice colors. I didn't expect it, I have read all the relevant reviews, but I was impressed.
- As for brightness, in a moderately lit room, I have it at 35%, because higher brightness may make the colors look better, but if you happen to open a white page in Word, you might feel like you have a projector on your eyes. In a dark room during nighttime, the brightness needs adjustment so as not to blind you.
- Excellent in all office tasks I tried it with.
I don't know if I got a good piece, but if they are all like this, it's definitely worth it.

P.S.: I am sensitive to my eyes and so far I haven't felt any pain from flickering. With 14 hours of daily use!

I bought the monitor yesterday, very good resolution, wonderful colors, good construction, but intense backlight bleed in the 4 corners and also on the bottom side, as if I have placed spotlights. Luckily, they only appear in full black, so I didn't have any issues with games or generally on the workspace surface. Unfortunately, it's a common issue with IPS panels.
On 3/9/20, the external plastic panel detached by itself and the glue holding it was visible. I contacted their service, sent them photos of the problem, and they told me they will replace the monitor. When I asked if it will be a new one or a refurbished one, they said all possibilities are on the table. I'm waiting until Monday to see what will happen. But I consider it unacceptable to buy a product and not know if it's new or not. I will come back with an update.
On 15/9/20, the new monitor was sent to me by courier. Everything was fine, and there was less backlight bleed. The technical support was very good

Build quality is excellent. Sturdy base that keeps the screen stable even though the desk I use it on is not the best. Very nice colors. Initially, I was bothered by the very intense white when working on text in low lighting, but I overcame it by reducing the screen brightness and adjusting the color temperature.

Certainly, in the dark and on a black background, it has bright areas mainly in the corners, but you overlook it in front of everything else.

The best screen at the best price. Its white is simply the cleanest white. It is the 5th Dell screen in my company and only an Ultrasharp model. Any screen that is not Ultrasharp is of lower quality but also much more affordable. You get what you pay for.

Hello.

I have been quite frustrated with Dell's IPS panels, to tell the truth.

I bought this particular model at the beginning of November from a chain of stores with a 4-week wait for delivery.
#1 monitor -> contacted Dell -> code and replacement. The reason was the well-known Backlight Bleed (Blb) issue.
#2 monitor (with another 4-week wait), same issue -> contacted Dell -> code and requested a refund this time - accepted by the store.

I didn't give up. I searched and found an online store that had the same model in stock.

Well, the third one was lucky.

<!> Attention, I'm not saying that I completely avoided panel issues, but compared to the previous 2, it's simply not an issue.

There is, there was, and there will always be IPS Glow in certain corners of the screen.

It is very rare for white light not to bleed at the edges of the panel (IPS).
I mean, it's purely a manufacturing issue, but this specific technology in panels has this thorn.

Now let's move on to a normal evaluation of the monitor...

POSITIVES:

~Huge screen - clean without bezels (bezel-less)
~User-friendly with many on-monitor settings, with convenient buttons located at the bottom right, next to the power button
~By downloading the Dell Display Manager application, it simply solves the hassle of pressing buttons to adjust brightness and contrast or change the setting from -Desktop to Comfort View, -Movie, -Game, etc.
~Amazing color palette and certifications that should be considered given the monitor's price
~2 USB 3.0 ports at the back and 2 USB ports that support fast charging (2A) on the left side, low down
~Display Port 1.4 (the accompanying cable should be 1.4 version, but since I had already bought an expensive one, I used mine right away)
~USB type C port, which can provide up to 90W of power!!!
~Technology for a screen within the screen (picture in picture - pip) and screen by screen (picture by picture - pbp), which can be adjusted through the Dell Display Manager in many ways

NEUTRAL:

~It needs a good calibration (even the basic one from Windows)
~The black color is not really black... The panel tries, but it can't achieve black like a VA panel.

NEGATIVES:

~If you have a small desk, the screen will seem huge to you
~Not suitable for gaming, despite supporting HDMI 2.0, the 60Hz will feel insufficient, plus it doesn't support G-Sync.
~IPS Glow... (We live with it, all of us who chose color quality and better viewing angles, sacrificing black color. We said it's a general issue with all IPS panels.)

P.S.: Would I have wanted it 100 euros cheaper? Well, I would have...

In conclusion, I am satisfied with the purchase, although not as satisfied with the ordeal I went through to get a monitor without extensive Backlight Bleed.

4 out of 5 stars from me.

Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention the three-year warranty of the product. It's a warranty from the manufacturer, not the store. So, in case of any issues or general problems, we deal directly with Dell.

A tip that will help all of us who have issues with IPS Glow (in the corners) is to place an LED strip behind the monitor (USB is even better if it has a hub).
You can't imagine the difference it makes to the monitor before and after applying it. It is a trick that catches the eye, not giving so much emphasis on the frame of the screen because it now illuminates around it.

P.S.: Sorry if I tired you guys, but buying a screen is quite important and there should be an update from all sides. No matter how much information you gather before the purchase, it will only do you good.

Coming from a 24" HP LP2475w (one of the best in its generation in 2009, I decided to invest in a new monitor after a decade). It was purchased from a major electronics chain with a delivery wait of 1.5 months because it was a special order and Dell did not have it in stock. As soon as I received it and turned it on, I noticed a terrible issue with Back-light Bleeding. Basically, on a black background, you could see light everywhere, especially in the bottom left corner. The black levels were simply abysmal. The monitor was Revision A01 and I don't know if it will be fixed in later productions, but I returned the one I received the next working day (it cost 900 Euros). Personally, I am disappointed with Dell's Build Quality today and I would not choose it in the future for 4K HDR models.

Hello.

I have been quite frustrated with Dell's IPS panels, to tell the truth.

I bought this particular model at the beginning of November from a chain of stores with a 4-week wait for delivery.
#1 monitor -> contacted Dell -> code and replacement. The reason was the well-known Backlight Bleed (Blb) issue.
#2 monitor (with another 4-week wait), same issue -> contacted Dell -> code and requested a refund this time - accepted by the store.

I didn't give up. I searched and found an online store that had the same model in stock.

Well, the third one was lucky.

<!> Attention, I'm not saying that I completely avoided panel issues, but compared to the previous 2, it's simply not an issue.

There is, there was, and there will always be IPS Glow in certain corners of the screen.

It is very rare for white light not to bleed at the edges of the panel (IPS).
I mean, it's purely a manufacturing issue, but this specific technology in panels has this thorn.

Now let's move on to a normal evaluation of the monitor...

POSITIVES:

~Huge screen - clean without bezels (bezel-less)
~User-friendly with many on-monitor settings, with convenient buttons located at the bottom right, next to the power button
~By downloading the Dell Display Manager application, it simply solves the hassle of pressing buttons to adjust brightness and contrast or change the setting from -Desktop to Comfort View, -Movie, -Game, etc.
~Amazing color palette and certifications that should be considered given the monitor's price
~2 USB 3.0 ports at the back and 2 USB ports that support fast charging (2A) on the left side, low down
~Display Port 1.4 (the accompanying cable should be 1.4 version, but since I had already bought an expensive one, I used mine right away)
~USB type C port, which can provide up to 90W of power!!!
~Technology for a screen within the screen (picture in picture - pip) and screen by screen (picture by picture - pbp), which can be adjusted through the Dell Display Manager in many ways

NEUTRAL:

~It needs a good calibration (even the basic one from Windows)
~The black color is not really black... The panel tries, but it can't achieve black like a VA panel.

NEGATIVES:

~If you have a small desk, the screen will seem huge to you
~Not suitable for gaming, despite supporting HDMI 2.0, the 60Hz will feel insufficient, plus it doesn't support G-Sync.
~IPS Glow... (We live with it, all of us who chose color quality and better viewing angles, sacrificing black color. We said it's a general issue with all IPS panels.)

P.S.: Would I have wanted it 100 euros cheaper? Well, I would have...

In conclusion, I am satisfied with the purchase, although not as satisfied with the ordeal I went through to get a monitor without extensive Backlight Bleed.

4 out of 5 stars from me.

Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention the three-year warranty of the product. It's a warranty from the manufacturer, not the store. So, in case of any issues or general problems, we deal directly with Dell.

A tip that will help all of us who have issues with IPS Glow (in the corners) is to place an LED strip behind the monitor (USB is even better if it has a hub).
You can't imagine the difference it makes to the monitor before and after applying it. It is a trick that catches the eye, not giving so much emphasis on the frame of the screen because it now illuminates around it.

P.S.: Sorry if I tired you guys, but buying a screen is quite important and there should be an update from all sides. No matter how much information you gather before the purchase, it will only do you good.

Coming from a 24" HP LP2475w (one of the best in its generation in 2009, I decided to invest in a new monitor after a decade). It was purchased from a major electronics chain with a delivery wait of 1.5 months because it was a special order and Dell did not have it in stock. As soon as I received it and turned it on, I noticed a terrible issue with Back-light Bleeding. Basically, on a black background, you could see light everywhere, especially in the bottom left corner. The black levels were simply abysmal. The monitor was Revision A01 and I don't know if it will be fixed in later productions, but I returned the one I received the next working day (it cost 900 Euros). Personally, I am disappointed with Dell's Build Quality today and I would not choose it in the future for 4K HDR models.

I have been buying DELL monitors from the U series for professional use for many years. I use them professionally for many hours a day and keep them for MANY years. I bought this specific model, U3219Q, about half a year ago (with reservations due to reviews about panel quality variation).

The first U3219Q broke in less than a month (no display at all). I contacted the store (very polite) who provided me with a specific Dell service phone number and the Dell company IMMEDIATELY replaced it with a new U3219Q.

The communication with Dell was excellent, as well as their immediate response/service for the replacement of the first monitor!

The monitor is excellent in terms of quality, image, and colors (for its class), but besides that, it provides additional features for professional use such as the display manager and KVM. The reliability and support from the manufacturer are very important to me, so I don't want to be left hanging.

I have no idea if it is good for gaming, I don't think it applies to these monitors (corresponding to quadro GPUs).

Highly recommended for professional use (but buy from a reputable store)

The screen is truly amazing. I use it with a MacBook Pro 16" and it has greatly benefited me. For MacBook Pro owners, I consider it a one-way street because, apart from other features, it offers a type-c connection, which means that with just one cable on the MacBook, you have both charging and display.

This particular model has only one disadvantage, which has been resolved in the next generation. It does not support USB 3 speeds when the display is provided through type c. The speed drops to USB 2.

This particular product was purchased and is used daily (>8 hours) for office work (CAD/Office/Photoshop/Premiere). It has been tested on simple games (not competitive) with an RTX 2060 Super without any noticeable Ghosting or Tearing despite its 60Hz and actual 10-15ms response time.
It has 1x DP 1.4, 1 HDMI 2.0, 4x USB 3.0, and 1x USB C. It is HDR10 (which you will hardly ever use for office work that you will choose it for), and it also features PIP & PBP. The clarity of the panel in text is incredible, the colors are accurate as the pre-calibration from the factory is classic (...like all DELL U series monitors) and its stand offers several adjustments to bring it to the perfect position that suits you.
