Coming from the Astro a50 gen 3, which died unexpectedly, I decided to give Steelseries a chance. However, I didn't want to spend over 300 euros again, so I bought the Arctis 7 after watching numerous review videos that spoke highly of it in terms of value for money. Well, without dragging on too much, I have to say that I personally was completely disappointed. What value for money were they talking about? I'm really trying not to compare them to the Astro since they are half the price, but the sound quality is really bad, both in stereo and virtual 7.1. There is significant distortion in the sound, especially in the bass, even at lower volumes. My ears suffer. This is the worst headset I have ever put on, without exaggeration. The sound quality is unacceptable for 150+ euros. The rating for now is based on the piece I have, which I don't know if it's faulty or if this is really how they sound. I hope it's just a faulty unit. I have contacted the store where I bought it and will take it there for inspection. If it's faulty, I will update my rating. As a first impression, the headset is simply unacceptable in terms of sound. I emphasize that this is based on my experience with this particular unit. If they tell me during the inspection that this is how the sound is supposed to be, I will be very disappointed. On the positive side, it is comfortable on the head, and that's the only positive thing I can say for now.

Initial experience disappointing, as the sound, no matter how I adjusted it, was terrible. For 3 days, I struggled with external equalizers in the hope of improving the situation. Until I realized that the "Windows Sonic for headphones" setting was enabled. I disabled it and finally got the headphones I paid for!
Sound: crystal clear throughout the spectrum, except for the bass where there is some weakness - compared to the performance at higher frequencies.
Comfort: unparalleled, you don't feel the weight, perfect fit on the head, very comfortable pads. Perhaps the Velcro should be able to be applied to the entire surface of the band it has, because on smaller heads it doesn't secure (I tried it on my son and he can't wear them).
Battery life: as much as needed. After 5 days, it needed charging.
Range: The computer is at one end of the house, I went out to the balcony at the other end and it didn't lose connection at all. How much more do I need?
Microphone: Decent. It falls far behind the cheap (but wired) HyperX Cloud Stinger they replaced, but I don't use it so it doesn't bother me.
I would like the software to have a better equalizer and for some bugs it has to be fixed, as I have to uninstall to undo certain choices

Construction - Application
The headphones are beautiful and they look and feel very high quality. Personally, I find them comfortable and the material on the earcup isolates external sounds without putting pressure on your head. Compared to my old cheaper headphones, when I take them off (I wear them for a maximum of 3-4 hours), I don't feel that pressure on my head that sometimes caused headaches.
To wear and adjust them to your liking, you can adjust the length with a Velcro strap, which I hope will hold up and last.
In the (rare) case that someone has a very large head, they might find the metal headband uncomfortable, which does have a material to prevent contact with the metal, but I'm afraid that prolonged contact might become tiring. You can watch videos on YouTube to see exactly how it fits and adjusts to get a good idea.

Sound
The sound is very nice, full, and rich. For music, they are quite good, but in games, you can feel and hear the reason they were made! The preset setting that it has as soon as you take it out of the box and don't adjust anything is great, but to get the best for each application or game, you need to experiment with the equalizer. For example, for FPS games, I have a setting that helps me hear footsteps, gunshots, and understand where they are coming from, and another setting for single-player games where you want to hear the entire environment. In the SteelSeries application, you can "bind" each game with a different setting, so depending on what you're playing, it changes.
The "one setting for all" doesn't work, as the difference is noticeable and it's like night and day. I played a game with a setting that I had already made for another game and I was shocked!
So, be prepared to experiment... you will hear a difference!

In music (personally), I would like them to have a bit more volume, and in games, I don't reach 100% for any reason.

Microphone
Although generally in wireless headphones you hear complaints about the microphone, in these headphones, the microphone is great. So far, in the games I play with friends, they can hear me very clearly, without interruptions, and they don't hear the surrounding noises from my room as much.
On the headphones, there is a mute button which, when pressed, lights up a red light on the microphone to indicate that you are muted.
If you're not using the microphone, you can put it all the way inside the earcup, which is convenient and enhances the aesthetics!

Connectivity
I didn't encounter any problems at all when connecting them to my PC. The pairing was immediate and quick. They have good range, and the connection was flawless up to the 6 meters that I tested. Of course, as a user, I don't wear them to go out on the balcony just to say that I'm wearing them :P :P
What I mean is that at normal distances between the PC and the chair, or the TV and the couch, there are no issues.
Latency is 0, as if you were using a wired connection.

The receiver for pairing is not a USB stick, it is a small round thing with a cable (which hangs awkwardly at the back of the PC...), but it has Line in-line out. I connected the speakers of my computer to the line out and it automatically switches the output from the speakers to the headphones. So, you can listen to music through the speakers, and as soon as you open the headphones, the sound automatically stops and goes to the headphones, and vice versa. This way, you avoid the 5 clicks in the sound settings. It's a small detail, of course, but it makes you feel the difference.

Differences
The buttons and wheels on the headphones are okay. I would like the wheel to be a little harder so that I can understand the adjustment better. Also, there is a mix wheel for sound and chat, which is a small detail but also a fantastic feature.
Battery life is about 20 hours.
Charging is a bit strange as you always have to check the software to see exactly how much battery you have (it shows it with bars and not with % or hours...). Fortunately, it has an LED that flashes on the headphones in different colors so you can roughly know how much you have left.
Also, you can play and charge at the same time using only one cable for charging. I would like this cable to be a little longer because it barely fits in my space.

Conclusion
Very good and high-quality product. Comfortable, without latency, with many small features that enhance its image and use, but you have to deal with it in the EQ to "unlock" its capabilities. The charging part could have been better, and the only question mark is the scratching noise in the film.
Unfortunately, my previous headphones were very simple and cheap, so I cannot compare them to any other similar product (in terms of price or quality). However, if you want wireless, high-quality gaming headphones with a good microphone, it is a very good choice and I would recommend them to you.

Germany at 165 euros, Greece at 180. I bought them with shipping for 90. For me, even at the price I found them at a similar store, they are excellent, but the review will be based on Greek prices.

Arctis 1-3-5 entry with cable models. They have the 1 and wireless versions, but the 7 is better in every aspect.
Arctis 7 wireless, Arctis 9 wireless (200 in Germany), and it also has Bluetooth for connection with mobile and tablet.
Arctis Pro has a wired version (200 and 250 with amplifier) and a wireless version with Bluetooth and 2 batteries for switching (320-350).

The absolute value for money is the 7. The extras cost more. You pay for the comfort, build quality, microphone, and music quality (we are talking about a gaming headset, for music lovers there are Bose and Sennheiser, which are more expensive). An upgrade from the excellent HyperX Cloud for 5 years, the first model. As for wireless alternatives, there are the HyperX Cloud Flight (Flight S) and the Astro A50, but they are very expensive.

I have had them for almost a year, a full charge lasts 16 hours, they have a huge range (I can go to the bathroom and kitchen behind the living room where I play and they still work). They are very soft on the ears, lightweight, and comfortable. I play for about 20 hours over the weekend with them weekly. You can't hear what the other person is saying when they talk to you in the room and you have them on. You have to take them off to hear. They all have a small problem (I have checked with 4 headsets from the guild in WoW) with the LED that shows the battery levels - red, orange, green. If you let the headset run out of battery and then charge them WITHOUT opening the Steel Series program on the PC and without them being connected via USB when you turn them on, they stay on the last indication even when they are fully charged. Solution: Plug the headset into the USB, open the Steel Series program for the headset on the PC, as soon as the program reads the remaining battery, poof problem solved, as soon as you unplug the USB, the LED on the headset shows the correct color. 10/10, buy them, I have used them extensively.

I have been using this specific headset for about a week and a half. I will focus on the comfort issue, as it was a concern for me when I purchased them. They have excellent build quality, from the breathable soft material of the ear cushions to the metallic and durable top part. Since my previous experiences with Razer premium headsets were not very pleasant due to the pressure they created on the wings of my ears, I decided to spend the extra money to get something that is comfortable enough. Indeed, the Arctis 7 is very comfortable headphones that do not give you the feeling that your ears are being heavily pressured, so that after prolonged use, your wings hurt. Additionally, the material of the ear cups is very soft and breathable, resulting in the ears not sweating easily. They definitely do not give you the feeling of sound isolation that may exist in other headsets with different materials, but I like this because you don't feel that annoying "clogging" of the ears. They fit well on the head and have a weight that is not unpleasant. Now, regarding the sound and microphone, because I am used to using earbud-type headphones, the Arctis 7 meets my requirements. The sound seems very high-quality, with bass that does not "overpower" the rest of the sound. Finally, I would like to note a small negative, which is the SteelSeries software. It does have many settings to choose from, which is good, but there are some bugs regarding the display of the remaining battery. Sometimes you have to plug it in and unplug it to show the battery correctly.

I have had this specific headset for almost a year now and I can say that for the 120-150€ wireless headset category, it is the most commendable. Before this, I had the Hyper X Cloud II, so the comparison was not easy. They are extremely comfortable and after several hours of use, the volume adjustment wheel is very convenient for switching between gaming and chatting (Discord, etc.). The sound is good without being impressive, and I find the microphone system very convenient as it can be easily inserted and removed from the headset frame when you are not talking to someone. The range is not amazing, but there is no loss of connection up to 8-10m. One of the very positive aspects was the after-sales service of Steelseries. My model was defective and since the replacement is based on the official company price, they sent me a new headset within a week, along with an additional 3 sets of new ear cushions to cover the price difference. It is good to mention these things because many big companies struggle with replacing defective products. Personally, I was won over by the company and when other peripherals from a well-known brand fail me, I will choose Steelseries.

You need to adjust the settings quite a bit and definitely have DTS X enabled, otherwise the sound is terrible. The highs are too loud and the bass is almost nonexistent, meaning that the sound of a weapon in games sounds like hitting a pot. The software has limited capabilities. A big downside is that your ears get a bit sweaty and leave you with that feeling after a while, and the isolation is only from the outside to the inside, because outside sounds can be heard. The microphone is decent - it has clear sound.
I received these (Arctis 7) as a gift and I had the Corsair Void RGB wireless before, and the truth is that for their price, they are incredible. I've had them for 4 years and they still work incredibly well. The software (iCue) is quite good, and without Dolby, they have good sound, bass, sound quality, and volume at very good levels. They are very durable - with aluminum arms. Only the microphone is not as good, not that it's like the cheap ones, but it could be better. And their battery has decreased a bit after 4 years and now lasts around 10-12 hours (after endless use).

Overall, for the money, it could be better.

On the very positive side:
The build quality is very good, it doesn't creak, doesn't have any noise, and the materials look and feel high-quality.
The comfort when wearing them is amazing, they hug the head nicely without squeezing the ears. I was worried because I read that they are not comfortable for larger heads, and when you see them out of the box, they give you the impression that they are small. However, personally, I have a large head (for those who know, I wear a 2XL helmet, at least according to the size chart), and they are neither tight nor anything. The ear cushions are also fantastic, even though they are not leather or faux leather, the material they have breathes, and even after many hours of use, you don't get hot, sweaty, or have redness on the ears.

On the mediocre side, the microphone is good, but because they present it as something amazing, it's not true. It's just good and does its job as it should, nothing extraordinary. If they didn't advertise it as one of the biggest strengths, I would describe it as good, not mediocre. The range is also mediocre in the sense that you won't have any interference within the same room as the receiver, but if you change rooms, for example, it's difficult not to have interruptions, etc.

However, the sound quality is negative, even at maximum volume, it lacks intensity and is overly flat, not in a good way like you would expect in an audiophile headset, for example. The bass is non-existent, and only through the SteelSeries Engine can you adjust and add a little bit of mid-bass, not low bass. The mids sound clear and are the only point where they perform somewhat well. The highs sound somewhat "washed out" and not crystal clear, if you try to increase their volume a bit, they will clip almost immediately.
The noise isolation is also not good, and in combination with the fact that they can't achieve high volume, they make them unsuitable for a noisy environment. For home use, I don't think anyone would have a problem.

Finally, although they receive a 10/10 for comfort when wearing them, it is simply impossible to take them off and hang them around your neck. They bother you and make you feel like you're being choked. Personally, since I rarely do that, it doesn't bother me much. However, someone who does that should keep it in mind.
