Simply perfect. I have had them for about 4 years and even though I don't know much about sound, I am very satisfied. I have written the POSITIVES/NEGATIVES below for you to see. (I may have spelling mistakes)

POSITIVES:

1. Excellent sound (they honestly sound perfect, I don't know what to say)

2. Exceptional noise cancellation

3. Very comfortable in the ear and on the head because they have thick and comfortable cushions

4. Variety of functions e.g. if you put your palm on the right side of the headphones, the noise cancelling will stop so you can hear what's going on around you. If you slide your finger upwards, the volume increases and downwards the volume decreases, etc.

5. Ultimate Bluetooth that reaches far distances with obstacles (CAUTION YOUR DEVICE MUST HAVE GOOD BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY FOR A GOOD CONNECTION FROM A DISTANCE)

6. In contrast to other headphones, the built-in microphone is quite good for calls (Zoom, Skype, Discord, etc.) (CAUTION IF YOU CONNECT THEM VIA CABLE, THE MICROPHONE DOES NOT WORK. THE MICROPHONE ONLY WORKS WITH BLUETOOTH CONNECTION)

NEGATIVES:

1. Sometimes the noise cancelling makes me not hear important sounds e.g. doorbell, voices, etc.

2. I think for studio headphones you should get something more expensive but I'm not entirely sure because I don't deal with sound much.

3. (EDIT) The leather cushions have started to wear out but they are still comfortable (I have had them for 4 years so it is logical for them to wear out over time)

4. (EDIT 16/6/2024). I found replacement cushions for about 10-15 euros (I don't remember the exact price). Unfortunately, the top cushion does not change. If you also want to get replacement cushions search for "SONY WH1000XM3 replacement ear cushions"

5. (EDIT 16/6/2024) After so many years, the right size adjuster (see photo) has broken and opens to the max with the slightest touch. Fortunately, I was able to fix it with a little sellotape.

I believe they are EXCELLENT and especially for the price they are now, they are well worth it (I bought them when they came out in 2019 for 300 euros). The newest model (Sony WH-1000MX4) is not worth it because it has almost the same functions as this model. (I will add EDITS in case I change my mind about something) I hope my review helped you with your purchase :)

I have no previous experience with wireless headphones. For my work, I have another pair that is wired and not wireless. This pair was purchased because of the excellent reviews on noise isolation. Regarding this feature, without having previous experience, I find them excellent. They have been connected to the computer without any major issues and I use them for Zoom and Teams meetings.
The negatives that I have identified are as follows:
1. They tire me after a long period of use as they are heavy and I feel pressure on my head. This is in relation to the hours that I use them for computer meetings, so when I don't have noise around me, I use the other pair that I have, which is very lightweight and doesn't tire me.
2. They don't have a button for mute on the headphones, so if I'm not in front of the computer, I can't mute and only listen.
3. The control for increasing and decreasing the volume, which is touch and swipe on the outer part of the headphone, doesn't suit me at all as I find it difficult to adjust the desired sound level with this method (it doesn't respond or I can't easily stop where I want). I would prefer a more conventional button.
In the positives, I will mention:
1. Excellent fit in the ears and excellent isolation (without having previous experience in this). Don't expect that you won't hear any external sound, but it is impressive how much they cut out noise and conversations, I would say.
2. The sound quality seems very good to me, although I have used them minimally to listen to music.
3. The battery lasts a long time and it notifies you with an audio message when it needs to be charged.

Well, I'm not an expert in the headphone genre. I had a relatively cheap pair of headphones (20-30 euros) and whenever I was on a call and I used the mic, they would say they could hear me through a tunnel. So it was time to get a good pair of headphones with noise cancelling, mainly to limit the external sound. I chose this one, and I can say that after a week of use, I am satisfied for now. Good construction, good sound, and I can be heard clearly when I speak. Relatively lightweight.

One downside I noticed is that after a while, they are not very comfortable and you will need to readjust them to give your ears some air, but I think that's expected for a headset that has great sound isolation.

Maybe I'll do an update to the review if I use them a bit more. But in the end... you get what you pay for, so I would say they are worth their (fairly decent) price.

Update: After more time of use...
- Battery, it lasts quite a while and charging is fast when it runs out.
- Noise cancelling, all the way! I think that's their biggest advantage.

- Unfortunately, adjusting the volume with touch doesn't suit me very well, I struggle to adjust the intensity that way.
- They get a bit tiring after a while (as I mentioned before)

I read a lot before buying headphones because I am not knowledgeable and I do not have such a refined ear.
If you need a versatile headset for work, personal entertainment, and travel companion, there is no reason to search.
The noise cancelling is truly amazing, if someone is playing music and talking right in front of me, I can't hear anything without exaggeration.
In all work meetings, I can hear everyone and they can hear me crystal clear even with the jack and noise cancelling off. (Of course, the microphone does not work with the jack).
You will read many reviews that talk about details regarding sound, microphone, etc., but let's not fool ourselves, if you are an expert, it may not be in your range. If you are the average user, you will realize that it is worth every penny and the details for us who are not gurus may not even be noticeable.
It is sturdy, has Bluetooth connectivity, and is very comfortable even after a long time. Hope they last. Worth it.

Update: The build quality is truly amazing - the ear cushions couldn't even be torn by a cat. The headphones continue to perform strongly - traveling, exercising, everyday use, everything is perfect.
One issue is that after some time, they may become a bit tiring on the head and they also heat up because they are heavy. Until today, I have said many times that I have no regrets and I continue to say it.

Well....my review is interesting because I am also the owner of the misunderstood Sony WH-XB900n and I have interesting things to share with you..... So, as the owner of the XB900n for the past 5 months, I was satisfied. Many hours of use for Work at Home, music, and with me for light running only on winter days under a hood. The headphones were comfortable on my head and I simply didn't know I was wearing them, the sound was also great, the drivers softened with use and I had developed a great relationship with them. Suddenly, I see the 1000XM3 back at 199 euros and my son tells me to give him the XB900n and finally get the 1000XM3 that you've been wanting so much. I received them on Saturday noon, 12.12. Opening the package and much joy since they sent me a fresh device made in August 2020, which meant that the battery hadn't been inactive for long and that no update was needed. Their charge was an impressive 100%!

As for the build quality, I have to say that the rubberized plastic they are made of seems like a step back compared to the 900, also this plastic is not as responsive to controls as the 900. They also seem more delicate compared to the 900 and the initial shock that the headband is made of plastic was overcome when my son and I realized that it is simply painted black steel. Let's talk about the sound....for my standards, it is simply amazing. It's definitely not audiophile quality compared, let's say, to the wired Grado headphones I have, or the older purchased (also wired) Koss, but it is a sound that is as faithful as needed and as impressive as required for a mass-market product like the Sony 1000XM3. Better bass control than the 900n, much higher volume, and overall more balanced with the mids and lows working harmoniously better than the 900n. Overall, I would say that the 1000XM3 is closer to my standards as a 45-year-old and the 900n is closer to my son's standards as a 12-year-old. This doesn't mean that the 900n is not enjoyable, quite the opposite, over time and with use they became VERY enjoyable and I would even say delightful. Let's talk about comfort....comfort has been a challenge for me (even though the headphones are brand new and that is important for those who know). I feel quite a bit of pressure from the headband and they feel much smaller (to an annoying degree) compared to the 900n, maybe my head is big....I will monitor them, wear them enough for them to break in, but so far I would say that the 900n win by a large margin (and others on YouTube claim the same). There is also a difference in the size of the drivers that makes the 900n embrace and enclose your ears like a cocoon. Let's move on to the most underrated thing but at the same time the most important for me. The ear cushions on the 900n are twice as thick and square-shaped at the point of contact with the head, whereas the 1000XM3 are thin and round-shaped at the point of contact. I don't know which one is better, but I definitely feel MUCH better with the 900n on my head. I believe that the 1000XM3 will break in as they are brand new, so they need a serious break-in period to make a fair comparison. Let's talk about noise cancelling....Simply unreal, not only compared to the 900n but overall. And now let's see why the best is not necessarily better when the overall balance is disturbed. The 1000XM3 are so good that you believe they have some alien technology, on the contrary, the 900n, although satisfactory, had nothing to do with this field. Now let's get to the problem... the noise cancellation is so good that it worries and puts pressure on the ears. I read that with time and habit, I will reach the same point I was with the 900n. In any case, we are talking about an amazing pair of headphones that at 199 euros are a gift, since the differences with the XM4 are essentially only the multipoint connection (important if you work from home, but not worth paying at least 100 euros more). Enjoy your new headphones, and let me tell you that headphones are one of the most beautiful and personal gifts.

For years, I have trusted anything related to sound from Sony. These headphones, as you may have read in official reviews and user reviews, are among the few headphones that have a rating of 5/5 stars. So, I decided to get them since I constantly listen to music. The feeling is incredibly comfortable; you don't even realize you're wearing them unless you lie down and can't turn to the side. The fit is incredibly good even without activating the noise cancellation (a large button on the left earphone). It has a slight sound isolation, and the noise cancellation, which is done by an amazing processor that Sony has included, can be adjusted according to your preferences or automatically to change the way it eliminates the sounds around you (for example, when walking on the street, it allows a little sound from cars while isolating conversations). As I mentioned, you can isolate everything and not hear anything at all. I can't describe the sound quality; you have to try it for yourself. All I can say is that it's the best I've ever heard. In terms of peripherals, it comes with a storage pouch, a USB-C charging cable (takes about 3 hours to charge from 0% to 100%). I should mention that I charged it on July 12th and have been listening to music every other day for about 2 hours, and now it's August 23rd, and it's at 60%! It also comes with a 3.5mm cable for wired listening (I recommend wired for a wider frequency range), but as you know, it also has wireless listening. I should mention that on the right surface of the headphone, it has voice control, track change, call answer, and if you place your palm on the right surface, it stops the music playback and starts picking up external sounds. This is useful when someone is talking to you, and all of this is done with touch gestures! It also comes with an adapter to connect it to an airplane jack, which personally I find useless, but why not. I've said a lot, and I'll end it here. Buy them with your eyes closed; the quality is amazing!

P.S: After each use, I recommend cleaning the cotton parts with a dry cloth!

Purchase reason: Noise canceling for the office.

They are quite satisfactory! They have awesome bass and effective sound isolation. The battery lasts for a week and charges in 1 hour. With 5 minutes of charging, I have several hours of use. They have a nice design and look premium. The sound quality is great and quite powerful if I want it to be!

Sometimes when I listen to rock songs, I feel like the bass overpowers the music and adds something that shouldn't be there. It's not too intense, though, I just notice it because I pay attention to these things!

The microphone is useless.. I don't even try to answer calls with the headphones anymore. I can hardly be heard.

As for the weight and comfort, it depends on each person. My head is small, so I would prefer them to be a bit tighter or lighter so they don't slip off. For others who tried them, they were perfect! So, that's my fault.

Also, on hot summer days, the heat in the ears is a bit unbearable. Definitely not a summer headset!

I've had them for several months now and I have never noticed the sound some people describe as something blowing in their ears. Neither with music nor without, and I use them for 8 hours every day. They must be defective if you hear it!

Do not buy them if you haven't read the review.

Looking at the reviews, I only saw one with 2/5 stars and most people voted that it was not helpful as a review. The headphones are amazing in terms of sound quality, but it would be better if they didn't irritate our ears. I bought them from Amazon and on the second day, they showed the known problem that this model has. This problem only occurs when the ANC is activated and after about half an hour of use, the headphones start making a sound like someone blowing into the microphone (it is quiet but VERY annoying and it doesn't stop), usually it is not heard when listening to music but if you are playing games on the computer or if you happen to play something quietly, it is heard loudly. I returned them and Amazon immediately sent me a new pair which did not have the factory firmware version (which means that someone had probably used them and returned them). And the second pair had the exact same problem, even from the first day. In addition, in the right ear, you feel a strange pressure which everyone who used them noticed almost immediately WITHOUT me telling them.

Before someone says, okay, I was unlucky or not, this problem can be solved if you know, no. "I know" about electronics, so the solutions I tried were not just to try turning them off and on. I tried all the solutions suggested in the instruction manual, I reset them, I even found a script on the internet and changed the firmware from 4.1.1 to 2.2.1 (I think this was it, but anyway it was the factory one), I tried hitting the speakers from the inside and outside (it worked for some people) by closing them airtight and not. And various other things.

In most forums, the warranty did not cover those who had this problem because the headphones need 0.5-1 hour of use up to 2-3 hours to warm up and then show this problem, which means that each technician would not bother enough or probably didn't give up without someone showing it to them and they sent them back.

On the positive side: the sound is incredible in all frequencies. Through the app, there is an option for clean bass which I didn't use at first but it seems to be some kind of AI bass that adjusts the low frequencies very nicely, resulting in a clean sound with both highs and lows without one frequency overpowering the other. Many said that it has too much bass and I was afraid that it would be like, let's say, Razer or Beats where you just hear an annoying mess because they messed with the equalizer too much, it is not such a case and don't be afraid of that in this matter. The build quality is amazing but I don't even know if it makes sense to discuss it, many have already done so.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
During use in a call (messenger, phone, etc.), the noise cancellation function is automatically deactivated and the microphones are activated so that you can hear all the external sounds ENHANCED. As a result, you can hear everything, sometimes with distortion because the microphones sometimes pick up. UNACCEPTABLE. There is no option to deactivate it and it is honestly the dumbest thing I have encountered. To buy headphones with active noise cancellation and not only have it deactivated but also amplify the sounds of the environment when you need it the most.

Are they worth it? Maybe if they are not defective, but if you are unlucky like me (which is very likely), then definitely not. As soon as I return them, there is no way I will choose them again.

Keep in mind that photos of the xm4 have been released, which are likely to come out relatively soon. I would be patient in the range of 350 euros.
