[...] The paradox and at the same time hopeful is that, despite the blow that the Roman Catholic Church managed with the text "Dominus Iesus" in the Ecumenical dialogue, for the first time perhaps after the Second Vatican Council, a text from Rome gave, willingly or unwillingly, such a positive impetus, to start again and with different terms a struggle for truth that forced even Roman Catholic theologians and ecclesiastical leaders to express with clarity and determination the opinion that: "The ecumenical journey is irreversible and the ecumenical commitment is irrevocable".
These recent developments, which concern the attitude of Roman Catholicism towards the Ecumenical Movement at this very critical juncture in its history, are presented and analyzed in this work.
