Description

Description

The game begins! Roll the dice and carefully pull out a rod with the color you rolled. If you manage to take it without dropping the donut, you get to keep it. The game ends when the donut falls and the winner is the player with the most points!

For 2-4 players aged 3+ years

A taste of the game!

The challenge begins by gathering all the colored rods inside the wooden ring. With a gentle twist, the rods support each other and the ring stands suspended, defying gravity. Each player, in turn, must remove a rod without disturbing the balance of the structure. The suspense builds with every move, as the ring gets closer and closer to the table. Will you manage to take your rod, or will you be the one to make the ring fall?

What's in the box?

  • 1 Wooden donut (ring)
  • 30 Wooden colored rods (in 3 different thicknesses)
  • 1 Wooden die with colors
  • Game instructions

Everything you need to know to play

The setup of the game is simple: you hold all the rods together, pass them through the ring, and twist them slightly so that they open like a fan and support the ring in the air.

The player whose turn it is rolls the die. The color that comes up indicates which rod they must try to pull from the bundle. The rods have different values depending on their thickness: the thick blue rods give 15 points, the medium yellow rods 10 points, and the thin red rods 5 points.

If the player successfully removes the rod without the ring falling, they keep it in front of them and the turn passes to the next player. The game continues until the ring touches the surface of the table. Once this happens, the players add up the points from the rods they have collected and the winner is the one with the highest score.

It is a very good game for children as it trains patience and fine motor skills. It reminds of Mikado in a simpler form. Extra points because despite its box, it can be carried everywhere since it takes up very little space.

We play with my two children, aged 6 and 3, and they both really like it! We have had it for three weeks, we play it several times a week and they haven't gotten bored of it! It is one of the few games that both of them want to play with the same enthusiasm! Each game finishes quickly, they don't have time to get bored and usually we play it again afterwards.
It significantly helps the little one improve his fine motor skills, and with the older one, we also practice addition (with the sticks and points). I highly recommend it!

The box contains an instruction sheet and a bag with all the parts of the game, so it can be stored without the box. The game consists of the "loukouma", a dice about 2.5 cm with 2 blue, 2 pink, and 2 yellow sides, as well as 30 sticks, 10 of each color and different sizes among them. You put the sticks inside the loukouma, roll the dice, and depending on the color, you pull out the corresponding stick. The goal is obviously not to let the loukouma fall. It's a fun game, we play it with our little one who is 3. She learns to follow rules, have patience, and not get upset if the loukouma falls. It's nice as a first board game.
