This volume includes presentations by specialized scholars, primarily researchers from the Institute of Byzantine Studies of the National Research Foundation, based on the results of collective research by the institute combined with studies from certain academic collaborators.
The goal of these lectures is multifaceted: initially, it aims to propose solutions, always in accordance with the findings of the aforementioned research, to timeless problems that have been considered difficult to solve until now.
Secondly, to provide with simplicity and clarity, not stereotyped knowledge, but depictions of the Byzantine reality that will reveal both the course of a society and its so-called inner dynamics.
Last in order, but not in importance, these six lectures aim to present certain aspects of the so-called "lifestyle" of Byzantine people during the time when the empire was great, unified, and powerful.
