Sympatex is a poreless membrane, which is almost invisibly sewn between the inner lining and the outer leather or fabric (Cordura). Sympatex is waterproof and can stretch up to 300% in any direction. Finally, it is breathable, thus ensuring the escape of foot sweat.
Brake System (BS): It is a system on the shoe laces, which brakes the foot to stay in place during steep descents.
The Support System is a revolutionary support system for the heel. It essentially locks the heel in the shoe, so the foot has maximum stability, even on the roughest terrains.
Anti-tendonitis relief: It is a special system that reduces the tension of the tendon above the heel while walking.
It is a rigid shaft, with zero torsion, made of hard plastic between the sole and the foam material (air sole), which ensures maximum stability while walking.
Each Vibram sole is specifically designed to offer maximum comfort and durability, even for the most demanding. With over 60 years of experience, it produces 50 sole compounds, each of which is subjected to rough tests and very strict controls.
The easiest way to make a boot 100% waterproof or watertight would perhaps be to laminate it externally, but then our feet would get soaked from the sweat created by long walking hours. This is exactly why membranes are used, as they are the golden mean, keeping feet dry from external water, without stopping breathability. Grisport uses Sympatex.
