Description

Description

This book publishes two papers written for different reasons. The first, titled: The Immemorial Recitation in the Worship of the Church, was developed in connection with the author's graduation examinations in Byzantine Music. The second, titled: The Church Worship and the Participation of the Laity, provides the general framework - a summary of the author's teachings at the Higher Ecclesiastical School of Crete.

The subtitles that were deliberately assigned to both of these papers refer to the study of the content, essence, and role of music in the worship of the Church, as well as the mission and responsibility that arises from it for all members of the Ecclesiastical Body, particularly for the clergy and chanters, during the execution of their work in worship.

Thus, the ecclesiastical and worshipful character of Music is highlighted.
